“According to the Iranian side, the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan was not used against Iran during the war.”
Modern.az reports that this was stated by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Yerevan, Khalil Shirgolami, in an interview with Armenian media:
“This also contributes to the protection of Azerbaijan's security and stability. We carefully study all operations by the US and Israel against Iran, their sources, and the assistance provided to support them.”
Khalil Shirgolami stated that the misunderstanding that arose between Iran and Azerbaijan regarding the Nakhchivan incident has been resolved.
The ambassador said that the Azerbaijani side should not fall under the influence of Iran's enemies and must be vigilant so as not to get involved in any dangerous games.
“The presence of American and Israeli elements harms regional security and stability. Therefore, the Republic of Azerbaijan should show greater vigilance.”
Khalil Shirgolami considered the drone attack on Nakhchivan and the launch of ballistic missiles towards Turkey some time ago as provocations. According to him, these provocations aimed specifically at involving the Republic of Azerbaijan and Turkey in the conflict: “Therefore, these countries must be cautious.”
