Discussions continue regarding the sudden death of Honored Artist Jabir Imanov from a heart attack in a gym.

According to Modern.az, the well-known healer - healthy nutrition specialist Arshad Azimzade also commented on the incident.

He stated that this incident highlighted several important points:

“As is known, the number of gyms in our country, especially in Baku, is increasing at a cosmic rate. Incompetent entrepreneurs who open them do not aim to protect people's health; their sole purpose is to make money. Young people, overweight women, and men who have no understanding of the function and needs of a living organism, instead of adopting a healthy lifestyle, try to solve their flaws easily, “stay in shape,” or achieve a noticeable external appearance. The result is unsuccessful in all cases.”

According to A. Azimzade, the influx into mushrooming gyms indicates a low level of health and food culture in Azerbaijani society and a lack of educational work in the country.

“However, it has long been known to science that all types of sports are detrimental to health. Young footballers collapsing and dying or suffering heart attacks on the field before our very eyes, and the shorter lifespan of people who intensively engage in sports, are an inevitable consequence of this. All types of sports that create muscle strength, not nerve strength, as well as gyms that “pump muscles,” are enemies of health,” A. Azimzade emphasized.

He stated that renowned naturopathic scientists worldwide have divided all movements into two categories: beneficial and harmful movements:

“Weightlifting, running, wrestling, mixed martial arts, boxing, football, and other types of sports inflict a strong blow on internal organs, especially the heart, and shorten life. The equipment in gyms does not serve health in the slightest; it cannot prevent diseases or cure patients. This type of movement, which gives the p a good shape, I repeat, is detrimental to the heart.

We need physical education that not only enhances a person's appearance but also protects their health and restores it when lost, rather than sports that build muscle strength. There are plenty of types of movements included in physical education. The king of them is covering a distance of 8-10 kilometers with brisk steps outdoors every morning and the beautifying and purifying exercises recommended by the great Japanese scientist Katsudzo Nishi. They are necessary for the healthy, as well as for the sick, the young, and the elderly. It's never too late to start.

Of course, one cannot cover such a distance all at once. Especially sick and elderly people. Therefore, it is necessary to start from a minimum distance, for example, 1 kilometer, and gradually increase it. Unlike running, which is detrimental to the heart, walking with brisk steps both puts the spinal column in an upright position, beautifies the skin, strengthens the activity of the heart and lungs, and makes muscles, blood vessels, tendons, and bones strong and elastic.

The same can be said about swimming. Swimming also makes a person attractive, beautifies the skin, and strengthens muscles and internal organs. Gymnastics, volleyball, and playing tennis are also beneficial types of movement.”

A. Azimzade said that movements included in physical education also maintain an important balance that is crucial for health. This refers to the balance between incoming energy (food) and outgoing energy (movement).

“The bodies of people who disrupt this balance, especially gluttons who seek only pleasure in food, become covered in excess flesh. Excess flesh narrows the area of internal organs and disrupts their function. They seek salvation in gyms. They cannot find it. The path to salvation is physical education.
