Günay Masimova, daughter of the renowned poet Baba Veziroglu, has protested to the media.
Modern.az reports that the reason for this is that some websites have confused Baba Veziroglu's daughter with the daughter of AMEA President Isa Habibbayli. Specifically, many websites published news about the theft of 1 million euros in cash and valuable items belonging to Isa Habibbayli's daughter, using a photo of Baba Veziroglu's daughter. The issue is that both Isa Habibbayli's daughter and Baba Veziroglu's daughter share the same name and surname - Günay Masimova. As a result, when some websites placed a photo for the aforementioned news, they used a picture of Baba Veziroglu's daughter from social media.
Protesting this, Baba Veziroglu's daughter, Günay Masimova, wrote on social media:
“I am Günay Masimova. My father's name is Baba Veziroglu, a poet, writer, and creative person. As for myself, I am the director of the Baku Education Information Center, engaged in education abroad. I am the hardworking daughter of a hardworking family; I have earned everything I own myself, just as my father, mother, and all my relatives have done.
I do not have any millions, or millions of assets, abroad or within the country; all my trips to England and London are for business purposes.
The reason for my making these statements is the recent mention of the name Günay Masimova in the media. While the discussion concerns the daughter of another official with the same first and last name, my and my spouse's photos are being disseminated by the media, leading to discussions among people, even friends and acquaintances.
Advice to media workers – instead of copying photos, it is necessary to conduct research. If my name appears when searching for 'Gunay Masimova', this is not a reason to write 'famous father's famous daughter' and tarnish our reputation.
Fortunately, our fame is only a beautiful fame, through poetry, art, proper work, and deeds.”
It should be recalled that news has spread about more than 1 million euros in cash and valuable items belonging to Günay Masimova, the daughter of Isa Habibbayli, President of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (AMEA), who lives in Germany, being fraudulently seized from her bank safe.
