In Azerbaijan, a doctor was able to revive a patient whose heart had stopped, 45 minutes later.
Modern.az reports that this was stated in the information provided by TƏBİB.
At Shirvan City Central Hospital, a person whose heart stopped approximately one week after surgical operation was brought back to life after a 45-minute struggle – involving closed chest compressions, inotropic support, intubation of the respiratory tract, and artificial ventilation.
As a result of the doctor's persistent continuation of resuscitation measures and not stopping chest compressions in the Resuscitation Department, the patient's cardiac activity was restored.
A person (female) born in 1988, hospitalized at the medical institution on 19.11.2025, was diagnosed with chronic calculous cholecystitis, choledocholithiasis, and mechanical jaundice, and underwent necessary medical examinations. Subsequently, a surgical operation was successfully performed on the patient, and her treatment continued in the relevant department. However, on 25.11.2025, at approximately 13:50, the 37-year-old patient's condition suddenly worsened in the ward, and cardiac arrest occurred against a background of acute respiratory failure. The doctor immediately initiated medical interventions, fought until the last moment, and consequently managed to save her life. Afterwards, respiratory and hemodynamic support was continued for the patient in the Resuscitation Department.
A gradual clinical improvement was observed in the condition of the patient, who was kept under observation for some time; the risk to life was eliminated, and her general condition was assessed as stable.
It should be noted that the patient, a mother of 6 children, has already been discharged home for outpatient treatment.
