An increase in cyber fraud cases is observed during holiday periods. There are attempts to obtain bank customers' card and personal information through calls made via “WhatsApp”, “Telegram” and other social media platforms, under the guise of fake credit and campaign offers.
Modern.az reports that the Ministry of Internal Affairs once again draws attention to the fact that no bank or state institution requests card numbers, CVV/CVC codes, or one-time SMS passwords (OTP) via phone, message, or social networks. The transmission of this information leads to the theft of funds from bank accounts.
Citizens encountering suspicious calls, messages, or links should immediately disconnect and report the incident to the 102 service, as well as to their servicing bank.
Every bank card user must be careful and should not provide card details and confirmation passwords to unknown individuals.
Be careful, one call can jeopardize your financial account.
