In January 2026, a total of 85 individuals were hospitalized in the Toxicology Department of the Clinical Medical Center with a diagnosis of poisoning of various origins.
Modern.az reports, citing KTM, that as a result of timely and appropriate treatment measures, the condition of 81 patients was stabilized, and they were discharged home for outpatient treatment in satisfactory condition.
Of the patients, 27 individuals were admitted for treatment due to drug preparations, 2 due to rat poison (rodenticide), 29 due to acetic acid, 1 due to chemical solutions, 2 due to allergic reactions, 2 due to alcoholic beverages, 21 due to carbon monoxide, and 1 due to inhalational poisoning.
Specialized toxicological assistance, intensive therapy, resuscitation, and detoxification measures were applied to all patients by medical personnel.
Despite the intensive treatment measures undertaken, unfortunately, it was not possible to save the lives of 4 individuals (1 woman and 3 men).
The main causes of death were toxic conditions resulting from carbon monoxide and acetic acid poisoning.(APA)
