A criminal case has been initiated against the person detained for disseminating students' photos.
Modern.az reports that information on this matter was provided by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to the information, the Main Department for Combating Cybercrime (MDCC) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs received appeals stating that an unknown person had edited photos of law faculty students from Baku State University, as well as other higher education institutions, written offensive expressions on them, shared them on social networks, and demanded money in exchange for their removal.
As a result of operational-technical measures carried out by the cyber police, 28-year-old Fakhri Jabrayilov, suspected of committing these acts, was detained.
Investigations revealed that F. Jabrayilov obtained photo and video images of various individuals by searching with the tag “law students” on the “TikTok” social network. Subsequently, he edited these images using artificial intelligence programs, added offensive texts to them, and reposted them on social networks through various fake accounts.
The detained person demanded various sums of money from students who contacted him for the removal of the photo and video images.
A criminal case has been initiated at the Main Department regarding the incident. F. Jabrayilov has been charged under the relevant article of the Criminal Code and has been brought in for investigation as an accused person. Investigations are ongoing.
