Yesterday evening, a road traffic accident occurred on Airport Highway in the Sabunchu district of the capital, resulting in two pedestrians being hit.
Modern.az reports that this was stated in the information provided by the Ministry of Internal Affairs' Intelligent Transport Management Center.
It was reported that one of the pedestrians injured in the accident was placed in a taxi car and, considering their condition and the traffic congestion during peak hours, was transported to the Sabunchu Medical Center under the prompt escort of road police officers.
"The Ministry of Internal Affairs' Intelligent Transport Management Center appeals to pedestrians, stating that accidents involving pedestrians being hit are mostly recorded near pedestrian crossings. The most dangerous aspect is that some pedestrians approach the issue on fast and high-traffic roads with the thought that 'cars will stop and give way,' often becoming victims of accidents or sustaining serious injuries.
If pedestrians cross the road carelessly and do not use pedestrian crossings, the consequences will be severe. In this regard, road users must comply with the rules and approach the matter seriously," the statement noted.
