Behind the poor performance of young Spanish "Barcelona" footballer Lamine Yamal in the "El Clásico" match against "Real Madrid" (1:2) lies a serious health problem.
Modern.az reports that a week after the defeat, it was revealed that the 18-year-old forward has a very serious health problem that could affect him throughout his career.
Catalan newspaper "Sport" has revealed that Yamal is suffering from pubalgia. This is a chronic injury characterized by pain in the groin and abdominal area.
Spanish physiotherapist Luis Puig notes that pubalgia is not a common muscle injury, and this condition can develop as Lamine's p grows, due to changes in some of his muscles:
"First of all, we must say that pubalgia is not a muscle injury, but rather a change in the groin area where various muscles connect. This is not an injury that will disappear within a month. It is necessary to live with it and carry out preventive work to ensure that Lamine can play at the highest level."
However, renowned traumatologist Pedro Luis Ripoll assessed the situation more grimly in an interview with the radio channel "El Larguero": "To be honest, this injury is difficult to treat. It is characterized by pain that reduces a player's ability to move and shoot at goal by approximately 50%, which we observed in "El Clásico". This is a debilitating pain – it allows the player to participate in matches, but prevents him from reaching his maximum level and significantly reduces his effectiveness."
It should be noted that Lionel Messi, a former "Barcelona" footballer who currently plays for the US club "Inter Miami", also suffered from pubalgia between 2000 and 2008. However, even such an injury did not prevent the Argentine footballer from building a magnificent career.
