Iceland will not send its representative to the "Eurovision 2026" song contest, to be held in Vienna in 2026, due to Israel's right to participate.
Modern.az reports that Austria's "Der Standard" newspaper published information about this.
The country will be the fifth member of the European Broadcasting Union to withdraw from the contest for this reason.
Previously, the Netherlands, Spain, Slovenia, and Ireland had also announced that they would not participate in the competition.
It should be noted that Spain is one of the largest financial contributors to “Eurovision” and has significant influence in the organization of the contest.
