The Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system was operational in the UEFA Champions League main stage match played between "Qarabağ" and Germany's "Eintracht" (Frankfurt) teams.
Modern.az reports that Anar Hajiyev, head of the Communication department of "the galloping horses" (a nickname for Qarabağ), stated this.
According to him, a communication problem simply arose between the head referee and the VAR room at the beginning of the match:
"This was quickly resolved, and the match began. The VAR system was present in the game."
It should be noted that "Qarabağ" defeated "Eintracht" with a score of 3:2. The head referee of the match was Swiss Sandro Schärer. ("Report")
