Tonight, the 8th - and final - round of the UEFA Champions League League phase will be played.
Modern.az reports that in this round, “Qarabağ” will face England’s “Liverpool” club away.
The “Liverpool” - “Qarabağ” match will start at 00:00 Baku time tonight.
It should be noted that all 18 matches will kick off at the same time.
This match holds great importance for both “Liverpool” and “Qarabağ”, and neither will try to lose.
"Liverpool" will definitely want to win, as in this case, they will directly secure qualification for the 1/8 finals. A draw or a loss would send “Liverpool” to the "play-offs", in which case the team would have to play two more matches (home and away) against some opponent.
"Qarabağ", on the other hand, will advance to the "play-offs" if they win or draw. Even if our team loses, there is a high chance of reaching the "play-offs", and this will depend on the results of several other matches.
The "Liverpool" - "Qarabağ" match has been entrusted to a team of referees from Slovakia. The match will be officiated by FIFA referee Ivan Krujlyak.
It should be recalled that those who finish in the top 8 in the CL directly qualify for the 1/8 finals, while those in 9th-24th place gain the right to play in the "play-offs" (conditionally 1/16 finals). Those in 25th-36th place conclude their European cup campaign for this season.
