“Qarabağ”, which qualified for the UEFA Champions League play-off stage for the first time, has returned home.
Modern.az reports that the team members were welcomed at Heydar Aliyev International Airport by fans, media representatives, and the players' relatives.
The team, coached by Gurban Gurbanov, lost 0:6 to “Liverpool” club in England in the last round of the tournament's main stage.
Despite the heavy defeat, “Qarabağ”, which finished the tournament table in 22nd place with 10 points, qualified for the next round. With this, “the spirited horses” became the first Azerbaijani club to reach the play-off stage in the Champions League.
It should be noted that “Qarabağ”'s opponent in the play-off stage will be determined in the draw ceremony to be held on January 30.
