Tanju Özcan, the mayor of Bolu city in Turkey, has been arrested.
Modern.az reports that the decision regarding Tanju Özcan and Süleyman Can, the deputy mayor of Bolu, was issued by the Duty Criminal Peace Judgeship.
13 individuals, including Özcan, who were brought to court today, first gave statements at the prosecutor's office and were then presented before a judge. The prosecutor's office requested the arrest of Tanju Özcan, Süleyman Can, and Ali Sarıyıldız, and the imposition of judicial control measures for the other 10 individuals.
The judgeship decided on the arrest of Tanju Özcan and Süleyman Can, while judicial control measures were applied to the other 11 individuals.
