Modern.az reports that the selling price of fish has also increased in the markets. Our employee, who familiarized himself with the prices, observed that fish prices have risen by 2-3 manats in recent days.
For instance, “Trout” fish, which was sold for 10-11 manats a week or two ago, is now offered for 12-13 manats.
The prices of “Carp” (“Sazan”), “Kutum”, “Khazham”, “Mullet”, “White Amur” (“Belamur”), "Khani" and other commonly purchased fish have also seen an increase of at least 1-2 manats.
Sellers stated that the increase in fish prices stems from demand. After beef started selling for 20-22 manats, the demand for relatively cheaper fish increased. Those controlling the wholesale fish market, taking advantage of the situation, have raised prices.
