As of this year, excise taxes on tobacco products have been increased in Azerbaijan.
Modern.az reports that this is reflected in the amendment to the Tax Code approved by President Ilham Aliyev.
The excise duty rate for products intended for inhalation without combustion, containing tobacco or reconstituted tobacco, has been increased from 16 manats to 25.5 manats per thousand units for local production and import.
Excluding tobacco for manufacturing purposes, the excise duty rate for other smoking tobaccos, homogenized or reconstituted tobaccos, chewing tobaccos, or snuff tobaccos has been increased per kilogram from 22 manats to 162 manats for local production, and from 30 manats to 170 manats for import.
