Although a single tariff model is currently applied, analytical evaluations are ongoing. Analyses conducted on differential tariff models based on distance, zone, and passenger segments may enable the formation of a more balanced and economically justified tariff mechanism in the future.

Modern.az reports that Kamal Huseynli, Head of the Finance Department of “Baku Metro” CJSC, stated this in an interview with marja.az while discussing tariff changes.

The department head noted that the main objective of the tariff change is not so much to increase revenues, but rather to ensure the safety, reliability, and sustainability of the service.

“Within the new tariff framework, priorities include the improvement of signaling and energy systems, the establishment of a more stable and flexible operating schedule, the reduction of intervals, as well as the expansion of operational capabilities with 34 pairs of trains, and the enhancement of service quality at stations. The results of the work carried out will be reflected in subsequent financial and operational reports.”
