“Today, renewable energy sources are developing in various parts of our country”.
Modern.az reports that these words were stated by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev during his speech at the official opening ceremony of the “Khizi-Absheron” Wind Power Plant.
The head of state noted that the opening of the next large power plants is planned in Bilasuvar, Neftchala, Nakhchivan, and the liberated territories: “To date, they have been opened in Garadagh district, and today in Khizi and Absheron districts. This means that Azerbaijan's geographical position is such that it is possible to produce renewable energy sources in any region. I am not even mentioning the potential of the Caspian Sea yet. According to international assessment, the wind potential in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea is at the level of 157 gigawatts. This means that in the coming years, this process will gain significant momentum in Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan will become a very reliable country with large electricity generation capacity in the region. I have no doubt about this. Therefore, I invite foreign investors to this sector, as well as to other sectors that require a large volume of electricity. In particular, I invite them to invest in artificial intelligence, the creation of data centers, and other areas with high energy demand. This also includes Azerbaijani companies.”
