Against the backdrop of expected new oil product shipments from Azerbaijan, a decrease in gasoline prices is anticipated in Armenia.

Modern.az reports, citing Armenian media, that this was stated by the country's Minister of Economy, Gevork Papoyan.

According to him, in 2025, 6580 tons of grain (1000 tons from Kazakhstan, 5580 tons from Russia), as well as 1210 tons of Azerbaijani gasoline, were transported by rail from Azerbaijan to Armenia.

The minister stated that, according to data as of January 8, 2026, 8485 tons of Russian grain have been brought to Armenia by rail from Azerbaijan, and another 4103 tons of grain are currently en route.

G. Papoyan announced that 7600 tons of oil products imported from Azerbaijan are also en route: 6100 tons of gasoline and 1500 tons of diesel fuel.

The minister noted that the prices of gasoline and diesel fuel are expected to decrease by up to 80 drams per liter compared to the previous month.

Gevorq Papoyan emphasized that, taking this development into account, other companies involved in the sale of oil products are also working to reduce prices.

It was previously announced that Azerbaijan would send a second and larger consignment of oil products to Armenia.
