Last year, we exported more than 25 billion cubic meters of natural gas. Approximately 13 billion cubic meters of this volume were exported to Europe, and this figure will increase.

Modern.az reports that this was stated by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in response to questions from business representatives from various countries at an event titled "Breakfast with the Leadership of Azerbaijan" within the framework of the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos.

Noting that this was carried out at the request of the European Union, the Azerbaijani President recalled that a document on strategic partnership in the energy sector was signed with the European Commission after the start of the Russia-Ukraine war. "We expressed our agreement to double the volume of gas supply to Europe – from the then 8 billion cubic meters to 16 billion cubic meters. Thus, over a period of more than 3 years, we have brought this figure to approximately 13 billion cubic meters, and the volume will increase," President Ilham Aliyev emphasized.
