For the purpose of improving the railway transport infrastructure in the areas surrounding Baku, the restoration of the Yeni Surakhani–Hovsan, Bakikhanov–Bina–Gala, and Zabrat–Mashtagha–Baglar railway lines, and the restoration of existing stations and construction of new stations along these lines are envisaged.
Modern.az reports that this was stated by Anar Rzayev, Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA), at a round table dedicated to the implementation of the “State Program for the Improvement of Transport Infrastructure in Baku and Surrounding Areas for 2025–2030” for the past year.
According to him, in 2025, an analysis of the road infrastructure for the aforementioned railway lines was conducted, and design work has commenced.
“Some of the design works have been completed. Furthermore, optimization works have been carried out for stations and stops along the lines to be restored, and the locations of the stations have been determined”, - Anar Rzayev added.
