All necessary procedures related to the establishment of a special tourism and recreation zone in the liberated Kalbajar district have been carried out by the State Tourism Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Documents for two zones – Tutqunchay and Zulfugarli areas – have been submitted to the relevant Administration. Furthermore, work continues on assessing the tourism potential in Lachin and other liberated territories.
According to Modern.az, this was announced by Azada Huseynova, Deputy Chairman of the Agency, during a public hearing held on the topic “Current State and Development Prospects of Tourism in Azerbaijan” at the Labor and Social Policy Committee of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Concrete steps have already been taken towards establishing tourism infrastructure in the liberated territories. A recreation complex has been commissioned in Sugovushan. At the same time, a state reserve has been established in the Tugh area by presidential decree.
Projects are being implemented by the State Tourism Agency in these territories for the development of tourism, including viticulture and wine tourism. In addition, projects are being prepared for the development of gastronomy tourism in Tugh. The establishment of a culinary center is already planned here, which will contribute to the international recognition of Karabakh's rich cuisine.
