Trendyol, an e-commerce platform, currently operates in 35 countries.
Modern.az reports that these remarks were made by Erdem Biçer, Head of Regulation, Marketing, and Advertising Department at “Trendyol” company, at a forum on “Consumers in the Modern Digital World: E-commerce, Digital Services, and Security Issues” held on March 15 – World Consumer Rights Day.
He stated that Trendyol provides services in 27 European countries, 6 Gulf region countries, and a total of 35 countries, including Azerbaijan.
“The platform's average daily visitor count exceeds 20 million, and its active user count is over 40 million. The total number of products sold on the platform surpasses 1 billion units. At the same time, the number of active sellers on Trendyol is more than 250 thousand.
Furthermore, the share of e-commerce in retail trade globally is increasing year by year, and this indicator is currently approaching approximately 20 percent. According to forecasts, this share is expected to exceed 25 percent in 2027.”
He also emphasized that the global volume of B2B (business-to-business) e-commerce is expected to be 36 trillion dollars, while B2C (business-to-consumer) e-commerce is expected to be 5.5 trillion dollars:
“Azerbaijan is one of the countries where Trendyol operates, and the company considers the country one of its important markets. For this reason, both investment and communication strategies are shaped towards Azerbaijan.
The share of e-commerce in retail trade in Azerbaijan is currently approximately 5-10 percent. This indicator shows that there is great potential for the development of e-commerce in the country compared to the global market.”
E. Biçer also added that regarding the company's activities in Azerbaijan, the platform has 2.7 million users in the country. According to him, based on 2025 figures, the company's trade turnover in Azerbaijan exceeded 250 million dollars.
