As of February 1, 2026, the number of hired employees in the country was 1 million 782 thousand people, of whom 861.4 thousand people were employed in the public sector, and 920.6 thousand people were employed in the non-public sector.
Of the hired employees, 18.6 percent were engaged in trade; repair of vehicles, 18.3 percent in education, 13.8 percent in industry, 8.6 percent in human health and social work activities, 6.5 percent in construction, 6.2 percent in public administration and defense; social security, 4.4 percent in transport and storage, 3.8 percent in professional, scientific and technical activities, 2.4 percent in financial and insurance activities, 2.3 percent in agriculture, forestry and fishing, and 15.1 percent in other sectors of the economy.
