On November 4, 2025, within the framework of the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference to be held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, a significant event of historical importance for the Turkic world will take place - the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation will for the first time present unique projects reflecting the depth and grandeur of Turkic civilization.
According to information provided to Modern.az by the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation, the presentation includes the following projects:
A catalog on the cultural heritage of the Turkic world titled “Cultural Code of the Turkic World,” prepared in accordance with the strategic documents “Vision of the Turkic World – 2040” and “TURKTIME” adopted by the Heads of Turkic States;
The publication of the multi-volume Anthology of “Turkic Folklore Heritage,” implemented at the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and with the support of the heads of Turkic states.
It should be noted that for the implementation of these unique projects, the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation has brought together prominent scholars and experts from the Turkic world. They have made invaluable contributions to the systematization, research, and transmission of the centuries-old cultural and scientific heritage of Turkic peoples to future generations.
Within the framework of the program, an event was also held on November 3, 2025, related to the celebration of the Turkic Language Family Day (World Turkic Language Family Day), adopted by a resolution of the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference. The event was attended by the heads of Permanent Delegations to UNESCO from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Hungary, representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Uzbekistan and international organizations, renowned scholars, representatives of cultural institutions, and media representatives. The event was accompanied by performances by the ambassador of Turkic culture and heritage, and the soloists of the ethno-folklore ensemble “Turan.”
Thus, UNESCO has declared December 15 as Turkic Language Family Day. It will be celebrated annually on that day.
This event will be another significant milestone for the history of Turkic peoples, reflecting the international recognition of their linguistic and cultural unity, as well as the contribution of Turkic civilization to the development of world culture and humanitarian cooperation.
