One of the prominent figures of world literature, the famous playwright and director Tom Stoppard has passed away at the age of 88.
Modern.az reports that the artist passed away at his home in Britain. The cause of death has not yet been disclosed.
Tom Stoppard gifted the theatre world with classic works of intricate balance, such as “Arcadia”, “The Real Thing”, “The Coast of Utopia”, “Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead”. He also authored the screenplay for the famous film “Shakespeare in Love” and was awarded an “Oscar” for this work.
In 1997, Stoppard was officially awarded the title of “knight” in Great Britain. His creative style is so unique that the adjective “Stoppardian”, related to the playwright's name, has been included in the Oxford English Dictionary.
