"In my well-known controversial status, my intention was by no means to demean People's Artist Rashid Behbudov. I had written about soft male voices taking over wedding halls. There was just a small nuance, even an expression, related to Mr. Rashid, and it pertained not to the singer himself, but to his voice".
Modern.az reports that writer Sharif Aghayar stated these words on his social media account.
"Honestly, I did not think that my thoughts would generate such widespread feedback, or that they would cause so much distress to his family, the singer's relatives, and those who love him. I never want to hurt people. It seems I was a bit careless when choosing my expressions. Therefore, I apologize first and foremost to the artist's family, and then to all Rashid-lovers. I would like to remind you that I have highly valued Rashid Behbudov as an artist since my youth and have repeatedly written positive articles and kind thoughts about him. I hope that from now on, resentment and discomfort will be alleviated, and my conscience will be at ease.

It should be noted that Sharif Aghayar had used demeaning expressions about Rashid Behbudov.
