French President Emmanuel Macron has accepted the resignation of Laurence des Cars, director of the Louvre Museum in Paris.
Modern.az reports that a statement was made by the Élysée Palace regarding this. It was stated that Macron assessed the resignation as a “responsible step”. It was noted that after the major theft incident that occurred in October last year, the museum needs a new phase and renewal.
It should be recalled that a robbery was recorded at the Louvre in October. A group of four people seized jewelry worth approximately 87 million euros (140 million Canadian dollars) in just eight minutes.
