Kürşad Zorlu, Deputy Chairman of Turkey's ruling Justice and Development Party and the party's head for the Organization of Turkic States, delivered a speech at the international scientific conference held in Baku on the topic “Founders and Lessons of the First Turkological Congress: History and Modernity”.

Modern.az-ın məlumatına görə, Kürşad Zorlu stated during his speech that the steps taken 100 years ago in Baku are being kept alive in Turkey's state policy today:

"First and foremost, I would like to convey the sincere greetings of our Esteemed President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, to the participants of the Congress. There was a significant temporal and conceptual alignment between the decisions adopted here in 1926 and the reforms implemented by Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. The scientific environment created by that Congress was a crucial impetus for Turkey's transition to the Latin-script alphabet. Initial agreement has already been reached regarding a common alphabet consisting of 34 letters. As Turkey, with the resolute will of our esteemed President, we provide comprehensive support to this process. Within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States, eight states are further strengthening this unity”.

Kürşad Zorlu thanked Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev for the historic decisions he has taken in this direction: “Our unity is not directed against any country or geography. On the contrary, this unity is a manifestation of a concept that serves peace, stability, and mutual trust in the wider region. Furthermore, concrete steps will be taken within the framework of strengthening Turkology departments and Turkey's “Turkic World Vision Document”."
