“Why should an artist dress so formally...”
Modern.az reports that renowned writer Sharif Aghayar stated this in a comment he wrote after sharing a photo on social media of a group of artists, including People's and Honored Artists.
“It's as if it's a meeting of executive heads.
What is this compensating for?
What is lacking?
Taste?
Worldview?
Reading?
Vision?
Lack of belief and trust in one's own art?
Perhaps envy of officials' lives?
The message: "Give us fame, money, a house, and we'll be one of you"?
I don't know!
One thing I do know is that it shouldn't be like this...", the writer emphasized in his comment.
Sharif Aghayar's post was not received unambiguously by followers and led to serious discussion.
Among the many who wrote comments, there were those who criticized the writer, and those who supported him. There were also those who tried to approach the post neutrally.
Some of those who supported the writer called the artists' attire “Soviet-era formality.”
Those who criticized Sharif Aghayar, however, reproached him for making inappropriate remarks about artists and for being tasteless regarding their clothing.
Sharif Aghayar himself noted that his main emphasis was on artists wearing ties.
