4 percent of teachers do not work in their specialty.
According to Modern.az, this was stated by Jasarat Valehov, advisor to the Minister of Culture, during today's public hearing of the Science and Education Committee of the Milli Majlis on the topic “Current Situation and Development Prospects of Art Schools”.
The advisor to the minister noted that 77 percent, or 9,287, of music teachers teaching across the country have secondary vocational education in their specialty. The share of teachers with higher education (in their specialty) is 14 percent, or 1,720 people. Teachers with higher education but not in their specialty constitute 4 percent (467 people), teachers with full secondary education constitute 3 percent (435 people), and those with secondary vocational education but not in their specialty constitute 2 percent (242 people).
While approximately half of the teachers in Baku city have higher education, teachers with secondary vocational education are predominant in other regions.
