The pre-trial detention measure chosen for Yevgeny Belousov, chief editor of the “Sputnik Azerbaijan” portal, has been changed.

According to information from Modern.az, the journalist has been released to house arrest by a decision of the Khatai District Court.

It should be recalled that in July of this year, “Sputnik Azerbaijan” employees Igor Kartavykh and Yevgeny Belousov were arrested for a period of 4 months by a decision of the same court. They were charged with fraud, illegal entrepreneurship, and legalization of property obtained through criminal means.

In October, the pre-trial detention measure against Igor Kartavykh was also replaced with house arrest. A few days later, he was released and sent to Moscow.
