The information environment in the region is changing. Henceforth, Armenia will also be represented by its media representative in the Global Journalists Council (Küresel Gazeteciler Konseyi - ed.).
Elshad Eyvazli, chairman of the Foreign Media Council of the Global Journalists Council (KGK) and an Azerbaijani journalist, informed Modern.az about this.
Armenian representative will also participate in upcoming meetings...
Eyvazli stated that a global media workshop was held in Turkey a few days ago, organized by the KGK. The event brought together over 310 journalists from 42 countries. Topics such as media ethics, combating disinformation, post-conflict communication, and professional training mechanisms were discussed at the meeting.
“Actually, an Armenian journalist was supposed to participate in that workshop. However, due to certain objective reasons, this was not possible. But in our next major meetings, the KGK's representative from Armenia will also participate,” Eyvazli noted.
Azerbaijan has restored its territorial integrity, now it is time for contact...
According to our interlocutor, Turkish colleagues received the proposal regarding Armenia's representation in the KGK with some surprise:
“In Turkey, I was always known for my radical stance on the Karabakh issue. Now, such a position of mine greatly surprised my friends. I stated that times are changing, Azerbaijan has restored its territorial integrity. In the next stage, we must definitely establish contact in all areas. Otherwise, some forces will again manipulate the Armenians and draw them into a game.”
Eyvazli emphasized that the KGK's position is that the presence of the Armenian side at the table will make a real contribution to the regional information environment.
It should be noted that the Global Journalists Council was established 6 years ago and its central office is located in Ankara. The Council has representatives in 82 countries.
