On a number of accounts on the social network platform “Facebook”, a statement prepared with “deepfake” technology, not reflecting reality, has been disseminated in the name of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Information on this matter was provided to Modern.az by the Media Development Agency.
It was stated that this example of disinformation, prepared with the help of artificial intelligence and aimed at misleading public opinion, intends to seize citizens' personal data and inflict financial damage upon them.
It should be noted that recently, cases of cyber fraud with similar content are frequently encountered on the “Facebook” platform.
"In this regard, we call on “Meta” company, the owner of the “Facebook” platform, to take prompt measures to remove harmful content.
We urge society to believe only the information provided by official sources, and we call on journalists and public activists to always show principledness against such incidents, and to be vigilant in a situation where campaigns based on fake and false information and the trend of content creation with “deepfake” technologies are gaining momentum", - the statement said.
