He stated that he immediately ordered special envoy Steve Witkoff to inform Qatar about the anticipated attack. “Although he did it, he did it too late. I view Qatar as a strong ally and friend of the United States, and I regret the location of the attack. I want all hostages to be released and this war to end soon,” Trump added.
Trump confirmed that he spoke with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and the Emir and Prime Minister of Qatar after the attack. “I have instructed Secretary of State Marco Rubio to finalize the Defense Cooperation Agreement with Qatar,” the US President emphasized.
