Modern.az reports that this was stated by Vice-Speaker Musa Gasimli during a special meeting within the framework of the extraordinary session of the Milli Majlis on the topic of “Washington Agreements: The Triumph of Peace Diplomacy and Wise Leadership”.
He noted that this magnificent event, which will be a subject of research for historians and political scientists and will always be a source of pride, is the definitive resolution of a problem forcibly imposed on our nation, and the incredible successful implementation of a policy founded by the national leader Heydar Aliyev, the founder of the modern state of the Republic of Azerbaijan, with clear national goals, which saved the state independence from being lost and the country from fragmentation in 1993.
"The resolution of several issues facing our nation and state by Mr. President with a single visit - the suspension of Amendment 907 to the Freedom Support Act, which had been unfairly applied against our country since 1992, the signing of a memorandum on the establishment of a strategic working group on strategic partnership with the United States, and the dissolution of the Minsk Group - is a rare event in the history of world diplomacy and demonstrated the superior intellect, astonishing work style, and resolute will of our head of state, who said in one of his speeches, “I do not want to solve the issue halfway”," he noted.
