As of August 1, 2025, the number of hired employees in the country's economy was 1768,4 thousand people, of whom 858,1 thousand people were in the public sector of the economy, and 910,3 thousand people operated in the non-public sector.

According to the information, 18,9 percent of hired employees were engaged in trade, repair of transport vehicles, 18,1 percent in education, 13,8 percent in industry, 8,5 percent in the provision of healthcare and social services to the population, 6,8 percent in construction, 6,3 percent in public administration and defense; social security, 4,2 percent in transport and warehousing, 3,9 percent in professional, scientific, and technical activities, 2,4 percent in agriculture, forestry, and fishing, 2,3 percent in financial and insurance activities, and 14,8 percent in other sectors of the economy.
In January-July 2025, the average monthly nominal salary of hired employees in the country's economy increased by 9,5 percent compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and amounted to 1098,1 manats. In the mining industry, financial and insurance activities, information and communication, professional, scientific, and technical activities, as well as transport and warehousing sectors of the economy, the average monthly nominal salary was higher.
