US citizens are seriously concerned about the deepening political polarization and increasing political violence in the country.
Modern.az reports that this is indicated by the results of a survey conducted by the “Ipsos” research service on behalf of the “Reuters” agency.
According to the survey, 71 percent of Americans believe that society is seriously divided, and 66 percent are concerned about people being subjected to violence due to their political views.
The information states that approximately 150 politically motivated incidents were recorded in the US in the first half of 2025, which is almost twice as many as in the same period last year.
63 percent of respondents believe that the harsh rhetoric used in discussions of political issues leads to an increase in violence. Approximately 31 percent directly hold the authorities responsible for what is happening. The remaining participants either stated that they did not see a significant impact or had difficulty responding.
The survey was conducted online from September 12–14, with 1,037 US citizens participating.
