The “Taliban” government has started to gradually restrict internet access in Afghanistan.
Modern.az reports that, initially, fiber optic internet has been completely banned in Balkh province.
Local officials stated that they took this step with the aim of “preventing immorality.”
Currently, only mobile internet use is possible in the province. However, according to residents, mobile internet is expensive and its speed is also very slow.
The Afghan authorities also regularly suspend mobile internet in certain cases, citing security reasons.
