An arrest warrant in absentia has been issued for Bashar al-Assad, who was found guilty of charges related to the events in Daraa in 2011.
Modern.az reports that Judge Tawfiq Al-Ali informed SANA about this.
According to him, the arrest warrant issued against the overthrown regime includes charges of premeditated murder, torture resulting in death, and other accusations: “The court's decision paves the way for the issuance of a 'red notice' worldwide via Interpol and the conduct of an international investigation.”
It should be noted that Bashar al-Assad, who had been the President of Syria since 2000, was overthrown by the armed opposition on December 7 last year.
