Iran's “Hormuz” company has signed an executive agreement worth 25 billion dollars with Russia's “Rosatom” company for the construction and operation of four advanced third-generation nuclear power plant units in Sirik (Hormozgan province).

Modern.az referring to Iran's “IRNA” news agency, reports that the signing ceremony took place on September 26 in Moscow within the framework of the “International Atomic Energy Week”.

It was stated that the agreement aims to develop joint cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Russian Federation in the field of peaceful use of nuclear energy.

This colossal project will be implemented in the southeastern part of Iran, in the Sirik region (Kohestak district) of Hormozgan province, on an area of 500 hectares.

Studies related to site selection for the project have already been completed, and engineering and environmental investigations, as well as some preparatory work, are currently underway.
