The Bureau of the French National Assembly has rejected the opposition party's initiative to launch impeachment proceedings against President Emmanuel Macron.
Modern.az reports that the newspaper “Le Figaro” published information about this.
The initiative was supported by 104 out of 577 deputies. The Bureau simply stated that there was no basis for discussing this initiative.
According to Article 68 of the French Constitution, before initiating impeachment proceedings against the president, signatures from 58 deputies must first be collected.
Similar initiatives had been made previously but were rejected. This time, all parliamentary factions except for the “New Popular Front” and “National Rally” were against it.
