Israeli forces began to withdraw from some areas of the Gaza Strip on Friday.
Modern.az reports that "Reuters" published this information.
It is noted that this step is the first phase of the ceasefire agreement reached between Israel and Hamas.
The agency notes that after more than two years of war, confusion and uncertainty prevail in the region, and many residents do not know for sure whether the ceasefire has fully come into effect.
The Israeli government officially confirmed the ceasefire agreement with Hamas on Friday night. According to the agreement, the cessation of military operations within 24 hours and the release of Israeli hostages held in Gaza within 72 hours is stipulated.
Along the Mediterranean coastal road leading to Gaza City, Israeli forces also withdrew. Hundreds of residents wishing to return to the city gathered there, but because gunfire was heard nearby, many did not dare to proceed.
