On November 8, a military parade will be held in Baku - at Azadlig Square.

Preparations for the military parade dedicated to Victory Day are nearing completion. Within the framework of preparatory measures, parade drills of the Azerbaijani Army, as well as training flights of the Air Force, have been carried out in Azadlig Square and surrounding areas.

Naturally, watching the military parade live is among the wishes of most citizens.

Modern.az addressed several prominent public figures with the question, "Will you attend the parade?"

Member of the Milli Majlis Aqil Abbas stated that he would participate in the military parade to be held on Victory Day:

“Is there a greater, more beautiful day than this? Of course, we will participate. Azerbaijan has been freed from 200 years of captivity, liberated from occupation. I wish this parade would be held every year. In the past, such parades were organized every year on May 9, and we participated. I would like this tradition to be restored. I'm not saying it must be a military parade, but a general parade-like event should be held. Every year, people should come out to the streets, to Azadlig Square, and celebrate this day of victory as a holiday.”

People's Artist Mansum Ibrahimov also stated that he would participate in the parade dedicated to our victory:

“Of course, I plan to participate. This is our parade of pride and victory. We have waited 30 years for this victory. This year marks 5 years since our victory. Our Victorious Army, under the leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, wrote a great history by expelling the hateful enemy from our lands. Of course, we achieved this victory thanks to our brave martyrs and veterans. Today, we are citizens of a victorious nation. Karabakh is rapidly being restored, developed, and our population is already settling there. This is a very proud event, our greatest holiday. I believe that the Azerbaijani flag will always wave at the peaks, and we will proudly participate in the Victory Parade.”

Chairman of the Azerbaijan Writers' Union Anar Rzayev, on the other hand, stated that he would participate in the Victory Parade if invited.

Chairman of the Free Homeland Party Akif Naghi, in turn, spoke about the great importance of this date, as well as his desire to participate in the parade:

“It is everyone's, including our, wish to participate in the Victory Parade. This is a very important event and a significant day for us. The military parade is a symbol of the confirmation of our victory, once again demonstrating the will of the Azerbaijani Army to the world. At the same time, it embodies our country's successes in all areas.

Naturally, we would very much like to participate in that parade. A proposal has also been discussed within our party for the leaders of political organizations operating in Azerbaijan to officially participate in the parade. This would also be a suitable and positive step in line with the inter-party dialogue environment forming in the country.

If there is an opportunity to watch the parade in any form, by invitation or as an observer, we will participate with great pleasure.”
