Turkish experts continue to analyze the “black boxes” of the C-130 type military transport aircraft which took off from Ganja on November 11 and crashed approximately half an hour later in Georgian airspace.
According to Modern.az, although the official information is expected to be released in the coming days, pro-government media outlets in Turkey today published new claims about how the accident might have occurred.
Uğur Cebeci, a columnist for "Hürriyet" newspaper, stated that a sudden malfunction occurred over Georgia while the aircraft was flying at an altitude of 7,333 meters. According to him, initially, the aircraft's fourth engine stopped. Although the engine stopped, its propellers began to spin faster in the opposite direction due to the effect of the air current. At this point, the aircraft suddenly ascended 500 meters, and the pilots were unable to reduce the engine's rotation speed.
Immediately after this, the oil pressure of the second engine, located on the other wing, sharply dropped, and the engine stopped. According to Cebeci's claim, the propellers of that engine also spun rapidly due to inertia and air current, and as a result, one propeller broke off and struck the aircraft's elevator. Due to the impact, the aircraft suddenly inverted downwards.
The article states that as the aircraft, having completely lost control, went into a steep descent, its tail section broke off, and simultaneously, the broken propellers of the second engine pierced through the front part of the fuselage, causing the cabin to separate from the fuselage. It is emphasized that because the events occurred within seconds, the pilots did not have time to send an SOS signal.
It should be noted that as a result of the incident, 20 servicemen of the Turkish army were martyred.
