In Romania, the evacuation of residents has begun from a settlement located on the border with Ukraine.

The reason for this was a fire on a Turkish ship carrying compressed gas, which occurred as a result of a drone attack launched by Russia on the south of Odesa region.

According to Modern.az, "Euronews" reports that the incident occurred in the village of Plauru, located near the Ukrainian border. 15 people have already been evacuated from the village for safety purposes.

According to the information, a fire broke out on a ship carrying compressed gas, located in the area of Izmail port, during the drone attack. Due to the high risk of explosion, the Romanian authorities decided to temporarily remove the population from the dangerous zone.

The Turkish government's Directorate General of Maritime Affairs announced that a gas tanker named ORINDA, sailing under the Turkish flag, was damaged during the attack and caught fire. The 16-member Turkish crew on board was safely evacuated, with no injuries reported.

Romanian media reports that the leadership of the Tulcea region and local community leaders have gone to the scene. Emergency services have been put on high alert, and work is underway on a possible action plan.

According to current assessments, the complete evacuation of the Plauru settlement is expected. The Ukrainian side also supported this decision, stating that the explosion of the cargo on the ship could lead to devastating consequences over a wide radius.
