A meeting of the special representatives of Iran and Russia on Caspian Sea issues was held.
Modern.az reports that the meeting took place at the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The meeting was attended by Kazem Gharibabadi, Deputy Foreign Minister and Iran's Special Representative for Caspian Sea Affairs, and Nikolay Odovichenko, Russia's Special Representative for Caspian Sea Affairs.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on recent developments related to the Caspian Sea. In this context, necessary coordination for the seventh summit of the Caspian littoral states to be held in Tehran in July 2026, environmental issues including the decrease in the water level of the Caspian Sea, and solutions for developing economic and trade cooperation in the Caspian region were discussed.
This meeting was held within the framework of strengthening bilateral and multilateral relations and cooperation between the Caspian littoral states.
