An Azerbaijani who killed a 22-year-old police officer has been detained in Russia.
Modern.az reports that the incident took place in the village of Maksatiha, Tver region.
Azerbaijani citizen Rauf Aliyev, who was working legally in Russia, had an argument with two police officers who visited the apartment he was renting. During the incident, our compatriot inflicted knife wounds on a police officer named Andrey and fled the scene.
He was detained at Tver airport. By court order, Rauf Aliyev will remain in pre-trial detention. The next hearing regarding the extension of his detention period will be held on February 14.
