President Ilham Aliyev addressed the Azerbaijani youth on the occasion of 2 February – Youth Day.

"Dear youth!
I sincerely congratulate you on the occasion of 2 February – Azerbaijani Youth Day, and wish each of you robust health, high spirits, and success in your future endeavors.
The tradition of celebrating the day when the first nationwide youth forum, which became a broad and open discussion platform for our youth 30 years ago at the initiative of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, was held as Youth Day in our country, and the regular organization of such forums, proves that youth policy is one of the priority directions of our state's socially oriented policy. As a result of state programs implemented over the past decades, a favorable ground has been created for the individual development and increased socio-political activity of youth, and their role in state building has been further strengthened.
It is gratifying that today in Azerbaijan, an intellectual young generation has been formed that is deeply committed to our national and spiritual values, while also being able to keep pace with the development trends of the modern world. Today, you are a force that enhances the power of our state in all fields, from economy to science and culture. Every step you take towards strengthening civil society, preserving our rich cultural heritage, and promoting it internationally is an expression of our nation's commitment to universal ideals.
It is a result of the comprehensive conditions created by our state and the patriotic spirit instilled that our youth demonstrated unparalleled bravery in the 44-day Patriotic War, which was a great test for Azerbaijani youth. The majority of our heroes who put an end to 30 years of occupation and demonstrated our nation's will to victory to the whole world were indeed young people. This chronicle of Victory is an eternal symbol of the Azerbaijani youth's boundless love for the Motherland and their unwavering will.
I am confident that in the new era of renaissance in our modern history, Azerbaijani youth will continue to make worthy contributions to the future development of our state with their innovative potential and creative energy".
