According to the results of the 2019 population census, a total of 178 Armenians live in Azerbaijan. Of these, 55 are men, 123 are women. Of the ethnic Armenians, 109 are registered as urban, and 69 as rural population.
According to age distribution, the youngest Armenians living in the country are in the 30–34 age group. In this category, 14 people were registered as citizens of Azerbaijan. The most numerous age group is 60–65 years – at this age, 25 Armenians were registered. Additionally, in the country's territory, 4 Armenians aged 90–94 also live.
According to information obtained by Modern.az from the State Statistical Committee, the largest number of Armenians are settled in Baku city. In the capital, 74 Armenians live, of whom 20 are men, 54 are women.
After Baku, the district where the most Armenians live is Shamkir. Here, 38 Armenians were registered; of these, 13 are men, 25 are women. 10 in Samukh district, and 8 Armenians in Absheron live.
In Sumgait, the largest city of Azerbaijan by population, 4, and in Ganja, the third largest city, 1 Armenian is settled. 2 Armenians live in Mingachevir city. One of the areas where Armenians are relatively more settled is Absheron district – here, 8 Armenians were registered.
In the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, a total of 5 Armenians live.
Furthermore, 5 in Shamakhi, 4 in Shabran, 3 in Gabala, 2 in Ismayilli, as well as in Dashkasan and Goygol districts, individuals of Armenian origin are settled.
Regarding the Karabakh and East Zangezur regions, there are a total of 7 Armenians registered in these territories who have accepted Azerbaijani citizenship. Of these, 1 person is registered in Aghdam, 1 person in Aghjabadi, 1 person in Tartar, 1 person in Kalbajar, and 3 people in Barda.
Additionally, in Goranboy, Aghstafa, Gazakh, Tovuz, Khachmaz, Siyazan, Lankaran, and Oghuz districts also, with 1 person in each, individuals of Armenian ethnicity live.
